Homesteader Clearcuts
The Homesteader timber sale on the Nehalem River in the Clatsop State Forest included clearcuts of extremely rare old growth forest habitat. State forest lands in northwest Oregon consist of less than 0.01% old growth according to the Department of Forestry, making the loss of habitat within Homesteader that much more important.
Homesteader was clearcut in the Spring of 2016. A full report on the damage is coming. Additional resources below.
