Outings & Events

The North Coast State Forest Coalition is hosting a series of field trips in the Tillamook and Clatsop State Forests. Anyone interested in the State Forests and the role they play in the local economy and ecosystem is invited to attend. Check back frequently for updates and join our Meetup group to stay engaged!

Explore the Miami Conservation Area, Saturday, March 29th – The 6,396 acres of the Miami Terrestrial Habitat Anchor is newly classified as “High Value Conservation Area.” Join us as we explore and photograph this parcel, which includes some of the rare older forest on the North Coast. This trek will feature some cross-country hiking in order to document some of the less known features in this protected area.

This hike will be dependent on favorable weather. For more information, or to register, please sign up on our Meetup site.

Explore the Buster Creek Conservation Area, Saturday, April 19th – The Buster Creek Conservation Area is in the Clatsop State Forest and is home to some of the North Coasts rare older forest structure. It provides habitat for a number of species and is a particularly beautiful parcel of our State Forest lands. This trek will feature some cross-country hiking in order to document some of the less known features in this protected area.

This hike will be dependent on favorable weather. For more information, or to register, please sign up on our Meetup site.
